چکیده

Highly efficient materials and structures are becoming increasingly common in military, aeronautical, aerospace, mechanical, civil engineering applications. Composite have been developed to address the need combine two or more achieve superior properties. Many structural elements, such as laminated beams, use composite materials, but an accurate mathematical model of bending behavior is required due abrupt changes material properties interlaminar zones. This can be achieved using zigzag theory. theory one most commonly used formulations for modeling beams. improvement equivalent single-layer additional term called “zigzag function” represent variation axial displacement along cross section. paper proposes a novel high-order function sinusoidal format. Several higher-order beam theories combined with proposed functions, their performances compared those other functions literature. The results reveal excellent agreement between formulation reference solution well effective combination

A New Three-Dimensional Refined Higher-Order Theory for Free Vibration Analysis of Composite Circular Cylindrical Shells

A new closed form formulation of three-dimensional (3-D) refined higher-order shell theory (RHOST) to analyze the free vibration of composite circular cylindrical shells has been presented in this article. The shell is considered to be laminated with orthotropic layers and simply supported boundary conditions. The proposed theory is used to investigate the effects of the in-plane and rotary ine...

Hygrothermal Analysis of Laminated Composite Plates by Using Efficient Higher Order Shear Deformation Theory

Hygrothermal analysis of laminated composite plates has been done by using an efficient higher order shear deformation theory. The stress field derived from hygrothermal fields must be consistent with total strain field in this type of analysis. In the present formulation, the plate model has been implemented with a computationally efficient C0 finite element developed by using consistent strai...

Thermal Vibration of Composites and Sandwich Laminates Using Refined Higher Order Zigzag Theory

Vibration of laminated composite and sandwich plate under thermal loading is studied in this paper. A refined higher order theory has been used for the purpose. In order to avoid stress oscillations observed in the implementation of a displacement based finite element, the stress field derived from temperature (initial strains) have been made consistent with total strain field. So far no study ...

A zigzag model for laminated composite beams

In the present work, a zigzag model for symmetric laminated beam is developed. This model uses a sine term to represent the nonlinear displacement field across the thickness as compared to a third order polynomial term in conventional theories. Transverse shear stress and strain are represented by a cosine term as compared to parabolic term. This model satisfies displacement and transverse shea...

Postbuckling analysis of stiffened laminated composite panels, using a higher-order shear deformation theory

The investigation aims at: (i) constructing a modified higher-order shear deformation theory in which Kirchhoff's hypotheses are relaxed, to allow for shear deformations; (ii) validating the present 5-parameter-smeared-laminate theory by comparing the results with exact solutions; and (iii) applying the theory to a specific problem of the postbuckling behavior of a flat stiffened fiber-reinforc...
